Tutoring
All sessions are offered in office, virtually, or at your child's school if applicable.
Orton-Gillingham
Orton-Gillingham is a structured literacy approach designed to help learners make connections between letters and sounds so they can become proficient readers and spellers. To meet the specific and unique learning needs of your child, individualized sessions are designed using multi-sensory and explicit teaching methods.
Math
To understand your child's math ability, an assessment is administered to gain some insight into specific content areas that need more practice and review. From there, individualized sessions are designed where math concepts are taught using a variety of strategies and tools, including Making Math Real methods.
Writing
Writing sessions are designed to target the various skills and tasks needed to become a clear and concise writer. This includes sentence structure, organization, word choice, and the editing process. Writing styles including persuasive, narrative, and expository are employed so students can learn to differentiate their skills.
Reading Comprehension
Several reading comprehension strategies are taught and practiced on a variety of fiction and non-fiction texts. Students will be guided through before reading, during reading, and after reading strategies to help them curate a structured reading routine that can be used in various settings, transferring over to the classroom and beyond.
General Academics
This service is for any subject area and geared towards helping your child with homework, reviewing class content, or helping your child get organized for a school project.
Reading Assessments
To gain a baseline of your child's reading ability and level, various assessment measures are administered targeting fluency, decoding, and comprehension. A written assessment report is included after assessments have been administered to summarize your child's reading strengths and areas of need.
